The house already had a wonderful open floor plan with a double fireplace, but the spaces were cold and stark. The mantels were the first things we changed they were torn out and replaced with old paint peeling fireplace fronts from the early 20's. The doors were replaced with stripped down wooden doors. One room that was a "built in" office was completely torn out and made into a cute, double-bed bedroom with a brown Thiabot animal wallpaper; creating a much needed extra bedroom.
Old oriental rugs were scattered around the floors and overstuffed upholstery in a collage of textures and colors were introduced along with a few Moroccan accent pieces. The look is totally unpredictable, casual and comfy with a California Bohemian feel.
We even had an architect design a chicken house off the pool in the old Florida "Cracker" style and embellished it with Victorian Gee Gaws the hens were very happy!
Family and friends can ride horses, play with the donkey that freely roams the property, let their dogs run anywhere, gather eggs and pick fresh organic vegetables for a wonderful delicious meal the farm is now a real farm and a great escape to renew ones soul.
